Ukrainian officials said a barrage of S-300 missiles were fired from Russia‘s Belgorod region on Saturday evening.

Two struck the Nova Poshta site in Kharkiv, authorities said.

Kharkiv region governor Oleg Sinegubov confirmed at least six people had died and a further 14 were hurt.

He said: “The victims, aged between 19 and 42, received shrapnel wounds and blast injuries.

“Of the 14 being treated in hospital, seven were in a serious condition.

“Doctors are fighting for their lives.”

Ukrainian President Zelensky slammed the attack and shared condolences to the families of those killed.

He said: “A Russian missile struck a post terminal. Ordinary civilian object.

“Every day, we must respond to Russian terror with our results on the frontlines. And we are doing exactly that.”

It comes after more than 50 people were killed in a horror attack on a supermarket in the same region.

A cafe and shop in the village of Hroza were reduced to rubble in what is believed to be one of the worst civilian slaughters of the entire war in Ukraine.

At least 51 were confirmed dead including a boy of six, while a further seven were injured, officials said.

The attack is the deadliest in the Kharkiv region since Russia’s invasion more than 19 months ago, a spokesman for the Kharkiv regional military administration told Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne.

It also appeared to be one of the biggest civilian death tolls in any single Russian strike since the start of the war.

Moscow has, however, repeatedly denied targeting civilians.
