Trinity defends the Knockouts Championship against Mickie James at Bound For Glory. WWE NXT prepares for night one of Halloween Havoc. Taylor Rising chats with WrestleZone and more. Let’s break it all down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!

Trinity Battles Mickie James At BFG

Saturday’s Bound For Glory event marked the first-ever singles match between Trinity and Mickie James, with Trinity defending her Knockouts Championship against the “Hardcore Country” legend.

Backed by years of friendship, Trinity and James began the match with a shaking of hands, signaling their respect for one another. Once the action ensued, though, their eyes were on the prize — the Knockouts World Championship. The two battled for nearly 12 minutes before Trinity trapped James inside her Starstruck submission. James initially tried to reverse it by rolling over, but Trinity quickly shifted momentum back into her favor, locking James back in the submission. With her arms tangled up, James had no choice but to tap out. With this win, Trinity remains Knockouts Champion.

A full recap of the title match is available below, courtesy of our live coverage page:

Knockouts World Championship: Trinity (c) vs. Mickie James

Mickie and Trinity shake hands during the intros. They work each other’s arms once the bell rings. They mount each other back and forth. Mickie fakes a handshake and pulls Trinity in. They trade blows and dodge kicks, they slam each other face first and roll out of the ring to recover. They roll back in at the same time and meet face to face. Trinity hits Rear View and covers. Trinity gyrates on Mickie’s face and kicks her away. Mickie kips up and catches Trinity with a roundhouse and makes the cover.

Mickie drives Trinity into the mat with her knees like Trinity usually does, Mickie goes for Mick-DT but Trinity counters and plants her with a headscissors. Trinity turns it into Starstruck and Mickie tries for the roll up. Trinity locks Starstruck back in and Mickie taps.

Jordynne Grace Makes IMPACT History

Elsewhere on the card, Jordynne Grace made IMPACT Wrestling history, becoming the first woman to win the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. Grace and Bully Ray outlasted 18 other competitors in the battle royal portion of the match before squaring off in a singles match as the two finalists. After a brief back-and-forth, Grace nailed Bully Ray with a Grace Driver to secure the pinfall, securing herself a future shot at a championship of her choosing.

After her victory, Grace wasted little time in announcing her decision, revealing her intention to challenge for the Knockouts Championship at the Hard To Kill pay-per-view in January 2024.

WWE NXT Halloween Havoc Preview

WWE NXT will kick off night one of Halloween Havoc later tonight, with Shotzi and Scarlett acting as the event’s special hosts. As of this writing, eight matches have been announced for tonight’s festivities, including an NXT Women’s Championship match.

After successfully defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Indi Hartwell on Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, Becky Lynch will now put the title on the line against Lyra Valkyria at Halloween Havoc. Valkyria earned this opportunity after defeating Roxanne Perez and Hartwell on WWE NXT a few weeks ago. Before Valkyria faces off with “The Man,” she delivered one final message during her trip to RAW.

“I had to absolutely have to be here [at RAW] tonight,” Valkyria told RAW correspondent Jackie Redmond. “I had to see it with my own two eyes that Becky would still be the champion come Halloween Havoc tomorrow. And no disrespect to Indi, but I’m delighted that the match went the way it did. Because there is only one thing in this world that I want more than to be the NXT Women’s Champion, and that’s to beat Becky Lynch to become the NXT Women’s Champion. So Becky, if you see this, rest up tonight, yeah? Because you got the fight of your life tomorrow.”

Elsewhere on the card will be two special stipulation matches. Amidst her ongoing feud with Kiana James, Roxanne Perez spun a wheel to reveal the stipulation for her singles affair against James. Perez will now battle James in a Devil’s Playground match later tonight. Meanwhile, Gigi Dolin and Blair Davenport will square off in a Lights Out contest.

The NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament will also continue tonight, with the two semi-finals matchups scheduled to take place. On one side, Kelani Jordan will wrestle Arianna Grace, who recently returned from injury. The other semi-final contest will see Karmen Petrovic taking on Lola Vice. The winners of the semi-final matchups will then face off in the finals next week for night two of Halloween Havoc.
