Famed automotive photographer Larry Chen recently encountered one in the world, and while its owner may have been mistaken about the number of cars produced, he certainly knows he’s in possession of something special. The S201 was the first of the specially designated models that culminated with America’s WRX STI S209. Effectively, it was the full might of Subaru Tecnica International thrown into one model

Based on the GC8 Impreza, it was dialed all the way up, with wild bodywork that included a unique front bumper, turn signals mounted where the fogs would usually be, crazy side skirts, and an even wilder rear wing than STIs were known for.
