Scotland Yard has released 12 photos of people officers want to speak to about alleged offences at recent mass demonstrations in London.

The images were taken at protests in central London on October 14 and October 28, sparked by Israel‘s retaliatory airstrikes and siege of Gaza after Hamas’ bloody attack.

Those pictured in the images released on Wednesday (November 1) are suspected of offences, including using discriminatory language and causing affray.

Thousands of officers were on-duty during the protests, which were largely peaceful, according to the Met.

A Met Police spokesperson said a small number of people were responsible for “unacceptable” behaviour which has “no place on the streets of the capital”.

They added: “We will not tolerate hate crime and our commitment to Londoners is that we will act to make sure people are safe.

“Some of these suspects were identified by teams who review footage captured during protests and identify anyone who may have committed offences.”

Commander Colin Wingrove said: “We will take a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviour which crosses the lines into criminality.

“We know many people in London are feeling vulnerable following the terrorist attacks on Israel and subsequent conflict with Hamas.”

Mr Wingrove added: “It is completely unacceptable that a minority of people have used peaceful protest to foster hate and division.

“We know others will be appalled as well and we ask for their help to identify these individuals and report other suspected hate crimes.”

Many of those pictured are suspected of causing racially aggravated alarm, harassment and distress, which is an offence under the Public Order Act.

One person is suspected of causing affray, according to the Met.
