Two of Your Favorite Housewives Are Hosting Glamour’s Women of the Year Red Carpet

As we prepare for our annual Women of the Year event honoring bold and accomplished women from many fields, we are proud to announce the Women of the Red Carpet: Ubah Hassan and Brynn Whitfield!

Two of our Real Housewives of New York faves will be on hand to host the glamorous red carpet leading into the awards ceremony, and you know the girl talk will be fun. For those who don’t tune in, Whitfield is a PR and marketing guru, and Hassan is a model who also has a line of hot sauces.

Hassan told us why she was so excited about the opportunity, musing, “Honoring bold women is a vital need in today’s world. Can’t wait to chat with these inspiring women.” Added Whitfield, “Glamour embodies female empowerment and strength, and its message personally resonates with me at my core. I’m honored and excited to meet, greet, and celebrate all the women on the carpet.”

Women of the Year—affectionately called WOTY around here—shines a spotlight on some of the most interesting and brave women making bold changes in their fields. Our two Global Women of the Year 2023 are child actor turned mogul Millie Bobby Brown and actor-activist America Ferrera.

In a personal essay for Glamour, Ferrera opened up about toggling between the entertainment industry and her passion for justice, the exact duality that characterizes WOTY.

“I knew I would only be truly fulfilled if I pursued education alongside my acting career,” Ferrera writes. “So I chose to go to the University of Southern California to study international relations. It was a juggling act that squeezed out most of the fun of either experience and left me mostly with work. There were times I’d get acting jobs and have to finish my term papers on the floor of an airport, flying between sets. Nevertheless, I pursued both, juggling studying, auditions, and tutoring for gas money. But in my freshman year I started to doubt my acting career. Was I simply being frivolous and driven by my own ego and ambition? I considered quitting acting, because I had decided it was a selfish dream and I should instead become a lawyer or a legislator, someone who could actually make a difference…. [Eventually] I understood that my dreams didn’t have to be exclusive to one another—I could pursue what I wanted and also use the stories I told, and the platform I had, to impact the lives of others.”
