A pro-Palestinian college professor was questioned by police at the scene of Paul Kessler’s death in Thousand Oaks, Calif., The Post can reveal.

Moorpark college professor Loay Alnaji, 50, was filmed speaking to a female officer, who could be seen taking a picture of his hands in a video provided to The Post by Jewish Life Television.

“So you tried to hit the phone,” the deputy can be heard asking Alnaji in the clip, to which he nods yes.

Bearded Alnaji is sitting on the curb next to the blood-stained sidewalk, while people rush to attend to Paul Kessler, 69, who fell and hit the back of his head following a clash between pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters.

Kessler, who had been waving an Israeli flag in support of the country died less than 24 hours after sustaining his injuries and the death has been ruled a homicide.

Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff has said they are still investigating the incident and had received “conflicting statements” about what led to Kessler’s fall from the two different sides present, according to the LA Times.

Fryhoff said they are looking into a suspect, identified only as a 50-year-old man from Moorpark, who Fryhoff said had cooperated with investigators. No charges have been brought at this time.

Although Alnaji was pictured at the scene and questioned, he has not been named by police and it is not clear if he is the same person who is under investigation.

Alnaji is a professor of computer science at Moorpark College, but as of Wednesday the college had taken down his faculty profile.

On Tuesday afternoon, Alnaji was seen installing surveillance cameras above his garage door. When approached by a Post reporter he would say only “no comment.”

On his Facebook and YouTube pages, Alnaji posted messages praising Palestinians and videos.

In one recent post, the professor wrote, “O Allah, release the captivity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque … Sooner than later …. Oh Allah, don’t deprive us of praying in it before we die.

“Oh, God, give victory to your weak servants in Palestine, and everywhere … O Allah, bind their hearts with bond of patience and faith.”

He has also previously reposted a video of activist Shahid King Bolsen comparing terror group Hamas to civil rights leaders.

“If someone asked me to condemn Hamas I would say, what’s the rush? Let’s let history decide,” King says in the video.

Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff has said they are still investigating the incident and had received “conflicting statements.”

“You condemned Nelson Mandela until you didn’t, until he was a hero. You condemned Mahatma Gandhi until you didn’t.

“Let’s wait and see because you might change your mind on this one too.”

Meanwhile, Rabbi Ari Averbach told The Post Kessler was a pilot but he had retired from the medical field.

“His family wants him to be remembered as he was most of his life, which was a father and a husband,” Averbach said. “He didn’t go from protest to protest trying to make his voice heard.

“He was not a rabble rouser and someone who would get into people’s faces. He got caught up in the melee and the family is just trying to work through their grief.”
