Miles didn’t mention what the breakthrough technology could be, but the gaming industry is very competitive, and a technological edge could give Motorsport Games the boost it needs to survive. He recently told Racer that Penske Entertainment is “in regular communication with Motorsport Games to get the information that we need to decide what’s best for us going forward … it is a top-of-mind question that we’re engaged in.”
It’s worth noting that TOCA – the rights holder to the British Touring Car Championship – has also suspended its contract with Motorsport Games. TOCA says it was forced to suspend the agreement due to “fundamental breaches” of the agreement. “Having been given sufficient latitude to rectify those contractual breaches, unfortunately, Motorsport Games has failed to do so.”
IndyCar enjoys great popularity, and manufacturers have responded to this by creating unique builds, like the IndyCar Honda CR-V. Hopefully, the game sees the light of day, as it has the potential for success.
