A GIGANTIC palace in China is going viral on the internet as the biggest mansion in the country – and is the most mysterious piece of real estate.

Dubbed the “White House“, this secret mansion is located in the Wetland Park area of the Guizhou province – but the locals know nothing about it.

Finished in white paint, the mansion resembles the White House in the US, hence the moniker.

Apart from its title as China’s largest mansion, the Guiyang White House is also famous for its vast design and European architecture.

The locals in the Guizhou province have reported that not much is known about the eerie mansion in terms of ownership.

A dozen guards are always seen patrolling the complex of Guiyang White House at all times – and entry inside the gigantic estate is forbidden, according to the locals.

Some estimates suggest the entire complex – including the 12-storey building and the artificial pond in front – covers 18.3 million square metres of area.

“Excellent”, “luxurious”, and “classy” are the words tourists and residents use to describe this place – and it looks even more splendid under the lights at night.

It is said the luxurious interior can be accessed by several rosewood-decked elevators – and that the rooms inside are made of gold.

Some even speculate about the ownership of the mansion, saying it belongs to Xiao Chunhong – CEO of the Guizhou Honglichen Group, and the wealthiest man in Guiyang.

It is said that Xiao lives in the gigantic palace, and the patrolling guards are there to provide for his security.

The lack of information sparked speculation among curious locals and those from further afield.

The building has become a landmark – attracting tourists from all over China to see it with their own eyes and take photos from afar.

The White House’s real name is actually the Guiyang Art Centre – although the link with arts is unclear.

It is reportedly due to open as a hotel in 2025, managed by the Accor Group.

According to Accor’s website, the hotel will have 64 suites, two large halls and amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, gym, restaurant and bar.

Meanwhile, a tall skyscraper twice as high as The Shard has been left deserted in Northern China after a government ban.

Dubbed “The Walking Stick” because of the structural shape, Goldin Finance 117 would have been the fifth-tallest building in the world, if finished.

The tower was topped out in 2015 at a height of 1,957 ft – and has 128 storeys above ground, with 117 of them planned to go for housing, hotel, and commercial space.
