Will Ospreay discusses signing with All Elite Wrestling.

At AEW Full Gear, Will Ospreay officially signed a contract with AEW. Previously, he had expressed his interest in potentially competing for TNA ahead of his looming free agency in 2024. He had also indicated that he was open to moving to the United States and landing in WWE.

Speaking at the AEW Full Gear post-show media scrum, Will Ospreay was asked whether AEW was always his end goal or if there were other companies he wanted to explore.

“No, I mean look, the TNA thing was because TNA was wonderful, it was incredible. But it was just a case of, I wanted to hear everybody out,” Will Ospreay said. “Just because I don’t know, and I want to do what is best for my family.

“I can’t tell you enough, but my life has completely changed since that woman walked into my life, and responsibility has just placed itself in front of me. I’m one of the most irresponsible people you can have sometimes, but something has changed within me. I get it now, I understand the responsibility.”

Will Ospreay: I Believe In AEW

Will Ospreay continued by stating that, in AEW, he sees everything that made him fall in love with wrestling. He recalled a promo from Jon Moxley that made him realize that he wanted to be a part of it. Ospreay also noted that he is now willing to face his anxiety of coming to America, and he is grateful for the journey he has been on.

“I see AEW and I see the talent here, and I see everything that made me fall in love with pro wrestling,” Will Ospreay said. “I followed it. I followed everything, the good, the bad, I followed it. I believe in this place. There was a promo that Moxley did ages ago, and he said, ‘It’s time to be a legend.’ At that point, there was that point, I was like, ‘I want this. I want it. I want to go here.’ While I’m here, I’m gonna give everything I’ve got to this place.

“Not just for myself, because I want to see if I’m that good, but I want to give back. I had this mad anxiety with coming over to America, huge anxiety coming over here. I’m willing to face that. I’m willing to just try my best now. It’s an amazing journey I’ve been on, man. I’m so grateful, and I’m just looking forward to it.”

As he left the scrum, Ospreay thanked Tony Khan and told the AEW CEO that he genuinely changed his life.
