THE Kremlin has issued a chilling new threat to assassinate Volodymyr Zelensky after the Ukrainian leader said he’s already survived five attempts on his life.
It was a direct response to The Sun’s front page that revealed the battle-hardened president shrugged off each of Moscow’s attempts to kill him as no worse than a spell of Covid.

The Kremlin’s latest assassination threat followed The Sun’s front page that Zelensky now barely feared Moscow’s attempts to kill him
The sickening new threat came from Russian ex-president and Putin mouthpiece, Dmitry Medvedev, who warned Zelensky is “unlikely to have a chance of living to old age”.
Medvedev, now Putin’s deputy on the Russian security council, said: “All this cheap bravado also evokes one very obvious thought.
“With such powerful ‘prophecies’, this fool is unlikely to have a chance of living to old age.”
“Thoughts are sometimes material.”
The riled Kremlin crony’s statements were a reaction to bombshell statements Zelensky revealed to The Sun.
In a world exclusive, the Ukrainian president, 45, outlined how he had lost track of all the Kremlin’s sinister bids to get rid of him.
“The first one is very interesting, when it is the first time, and after that it is just like Covid,” he said at his fortress Kyiv headquarters.
“First of all people don’t know what to do with it and it’s looking very scary.
“And then after that, it is just intelligence just sharing with you detail that one more group came to Ukraine to [attempt] this.”
Asked how many attempts Russia had made to assassinate him, he said: “I don’t know, really I don’t know. I think not less [than] five, six…not less.
“They will use any, any instruments they have.”
In a rambling and barely comprehensible post on Telegram, Medvedev, 58, said of Zelensky: “Lord, what a wretched thing this Bandera scarecrow is.
“The bearded misunderstanding in green, answering a question from the British tabloid The Sun about the number of certain ‘attempts’, muttered in a hoarse voice, shaking his ridiculous head: ‘not less… five–six’.
“Well, even for The Sun it looks like a circus with horses. However, this figure is no longer taken seriously there,” he raged.
Medvedev, who is reportedly eyeing the top job if death or sickness forces Putin out, was Russian president from 2008 to 2012 when Putin served as his prime minister.
He then handed the top job back to the Russian tyrant.
It comes as Zelensky also warned The Sun that Russia’s bloodbath in Ukraine could spiral into World War 3.
He accused the Russian tyrant of “lighting fires” around the globe that risk spiralling spectacularly out of control.
“Ukraine today is in the centre of these global risks,” he passionately argued.
“And I really think that Russia will push until the United States and China together will tell them very, very seriously to go out of [our] territory.”
He said the grinding war in Israel had diverted the world’s attention away from Ukraine, which “doesn’t help” his cause.
And he highlighted Moscow’s ties with Hamas backers in Iran, adding that the Israel-Hamas conflict was a “really big wish” of Putin’s.
The embattled leader also stated that Ukraine desperately needs more air defence systems in order to defend themselves against the continued onslaught of Russian missiles and drones.
He thanked the US and Europe for helping in the fight against Putin’s forces – but said “it’s not enough”.
The president said his country is “staying strong” but his troops “need more successful results on the battlefield”.
