The 16-year-old was seen on camera wearing a large white hoodie, a skirt, knee-high socks and glasses

The final movements of teenager Brianna Ghey were released yesterday by police.

Doorbell footage shows the moment the schoolgirl left her home near Warrington, in Cheshire, for the last time just hours before she was allegedly murdered by two teenagers on February 11 this year.

The 16-year-old, who was transgender, was seen on camera wearing a large white hoodie, a skirt, knee-high socks and glasses.

The video shows Brianna closing the front door while looking at something on her phone, then walking through a wooden gate, shutting it behind her and walking down the street.

Later that afternoon she was found stabbed 28 times in a ‘brutal’ attack in nearby Culcheth Linear Park.

Two teenagers, both aged 16 and who can only be named as Girl X and Boy Y, are currently on trial at Manchester Crown Court for her murder, which they both deny.

In a statement which was read out to the court yesterday, Brianna’s mother Esther Ghey, said her daughter would usually stay in at weekends due to her anxiety.

She added: ‘I know she would sometimes spend time with Girl X after school. Brianna was always home from school before I get home from work, so I don’t know how often they spent time together.’

She said she received a text message from her daughter saying she was on the bus on the way to meet Girl X on the day of her death, adding: ‘I’m scared.’

Ms Ghey replied: ‘That’s well good.’

In her statement she said: ‘I was really proud of her. I don’t think she ever saw it.’

Yesterday Boy Y was watching proceedings remotely over video link, and Girl X was in court.

The court also heard how Girl X told Boy Y she was watching her ‘favourite film’, Sweeney Todd, for the ‘9,000th time’ the night before the alleged murder.

On the evening of February 10, she asked the boy which knife he would bring when they met Brianna the following day.

He said: ‘The hunting knife I showed you in person as well as on the phone.’

The girl asked if it would ‘definitely 100% kill her’, and Boy Y replied: ‘Yes.’

She told Boy Y he should watch Sweeney Todd because he ‘kills people with one of the sharpest blades in the world’.

The trial continues.
