A CAT mum was stunned when her cute kitten failed to stop growing leaving people worried that the feline was a dangerous beast.

Photographer Chastity had no clue her cat Kusa would grow so massive it could barely fit in her arms.

The professional pet parent often posts pics and videos of her furry friends on social media.

In a viral Instagram clip, the influencer can be seen holding her white and orange-haired long boy who barely fits in the frame at just nine months old.

While some users mistake Kusa for a wild animal, such as a bobcat, the giant cat couldn’t be far from dangerous, as he just lay in her arms peacefully while she showed him off.

“We had no idea how big our kitten was about to get…”, Chastity wrote on her post.

She then explained that Kusa is actually a Maine coon, known as the largest domestic cat breed.

Unlike most breeds, which stop growing at about 12 months, Maine coons usually don’t fully grow until they are between four and five years of age.

Followers were obsessed with the massive pet, and said that Kusa must “guard the house.”

Others couldn’t even believe that it was a domestic breed, and questioned whether or not she could legally own the pet.

One person joked: “Ma’am, that’s a lion.”

In an Instagram post, Chastity shared a shocking video that showed that Kusa indeed started as a normal little kitten.

The Maine coon was taken home as a mewing white babe that could fit inside a teacup, but just months later he hit a huge growth spurt.

By the time he was five months old, Kusa was noticeably bigger than Chastity’s other domestic cat.

“And to think, cats aren’t fully grown till 2 years of age,” one amazed follower wrote on the post with over 4million likes.

Another Instagram user was shocked by the massive appearance and even asked if the cat was more on the “feral side.”

However, tons of Maine coon owners flooded the thread with incredible stories of their sweet and docile pets who were “the golden retrievers of the cat world.”

The average Maine coon weighs from 10 to 18 pounds and has a massive fluffy body, but Kusa is already far above that, according to the owner.

“We need an extra large litter box,” she told the Daily Star.

“Maine coons are very playful so they need a lot of enrichment.

“I think we will need to upsize, we have a cat wall and I’m worried it’s going to come off the wall when he’s bigger.”

With his incredible size, many people wondered whether or not he had ever hurt any of Chastity’s other pet, but she said he’s actually the tamest.

“We have three other cats and Kusa is at the bottom of the cat hierarchy, he’s just too nice,” she said.

“He’s a very needy cat, he loves getting attention.”

Maine coons are considered one of the largest and most intelligent domestic cat breeds and live from 9 to 15 years.

They’re known to be very friendly and love living with families who will give them constant attention.

A fellow Maine coon owner said she owns the world’s biggest cat as she claims he’s as tall as her four-year-old daughter and can even open doors himself.

She says the Maine Coon weighs 12.5kg (27.5lb), making it just a whisker away from a world record.

Yuli Minina’s took to Instagram to show her followers shocking footage of her Maine Coon standing on his back legs and letting himself into the garden.

The huge cat, named Kefir, was seen leaning on a door with paws as he hit the handle and opened it.

He then stretches his gigantic body out under the sun and trots around the patio area before hopping up onto a sun lounger in a true human style.

Kefir is filmed cheekily rolling around in a vegetable patch before perching himself on a branch, making him look more like a lion than a cat.

The video racked up over 2,200 likes and pet lovers across Instagram were left blown away by his size.

One wrote: “Look at the size of that cat!”

Another said: “Wow, what a good looking kitty! Kefir, you are a walking cotton”.

A third commented: “We want more Kefir videos, this giant cat is so pretty!”

The massive feline even has his own TikTok page where Yuli posts updates on his bizarre growth and clips of him playing around.
