Bentley Speed Six Continuation Series Is One Step Closer To Production

Bentley said over 600 individual new parts will be used to produce the second continuation project, including a new engine block casting. Initial dyno testing showed the new mill could develop 205 hp, though it could be tuned to churn out more horses. The goal is to mimic the look and the performance feel of the 1930 model.

However, despite the use of period-correct tools, fixings, and techniques, the models won’t likely completely replicate the original pre-war models as some features will be modified to conform to today’s regulations. The master models for this project are the company’s Speed Six, GU409, and ‘Old Number 3,’ a works Speed Six that entered the 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans with Sammy Davis and Clive Dunfee at the helm.
