The Volkswagen Group – including Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Scout – has announced its adaption of Tesla’s NACS charging ports. Volkswagen was one of only two major automakers that had bucked the trend, and now that VW has caved to peer pressure, only Stellantis remains.

From 2024 onward, future VW, Audi, Porsche, and Scout vehicles to be sold in the US will have the NACS charging port, giving owners charging access to over 20,000 Tesla superchargers in North America. This will be added to the over 3,800 DC fast charging outlets currently under Electrify America and Electrify Canada, expanding options for future EV owners.
