WWE Raw: Day 1 Results for January 1, 2024

Nia Jax defeated Becky Lynch by pinfall.
Cody Rhodes came out to the ring for a promo, calling out Shinsuke Nakamura and saying this ends now. Nakamura appeared on the TitanTron to say he’s giving Cody one more wee to dream.
Jey Uso and Kofi Kingston defeated Imperium (Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser) by referee stoppage after it appears Vinci suffered an injury after a dropkick from Kofi. This was filmed awkwardly and Vinci wasn’t shown much, but was at least seen walking away with some help, holding his head.
MizTV is supposed to have The Judgment Day. R-Truth comes out instead, by himself. Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh interrupt, setting up a reunion of Awesome Truth to go up against them in tag team action (even though R-Truth thinks since he’s “in The Judgment Day”, that he should be teaming with Dom and following his lead, so this is a ‘strange bedfellows’ tag team match as far as he’s concerned.)

Chelsea Geeen and Piper Niven crashed a party Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, who want to be fighting champions and have no problem fighting Green and Niven again, but for now, they’re killing the parry vibe, so they got drinks thrown in their faces.
Women’s World Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (c) defeated Ivy Nile by pinfall to retain
The “return of a former WWE champion” is…Jinder Mahal. He cuts a promo about how divided America is, and how he’s a past and future champion. He quotes the American national anthem in Punjabi and calls out the crowd for booing it. Naturally, this prompts the real point of the segment as The Rock returns! He badmouths Mahal for a while, until beating him down. Then, he asks when he goes out to eat later, should he sit at a booth, at the bar, or at the head of the table?
