THIS is the moment a Ukrainian sniper wipes out a Russian soldier from almost a kilometre away after spotting barely visible heat signals.
Footage from the rifle’s scope shows the sharpshooter aiming at the enemy using thermal detection before taking out the target from 900 metres away.

In the clip, the Ukrainian soldier can be seen scouting for targets when he picks up heat signals across the enemy line.
The sniper then aims using the scope’s crosshairs and hits the trigger, precisely taking out the Russian soldier from almost a kilometre away.
Ukraine’s armed forces said in a statement: “The distance is 900 metres, on the street – 20 Minus the occupier.”
It comes after another Ukrainian sniper set a new world record for effective shots after killing a Russian soldier from 2.3 miles away.
The record shot was executed using Horizon’s Lord – a massive 6ft Ukrainian multi-calibre antimaterial sniper rifle.
The rifle is also said to be easy to carry and transport in and out of the battlefield, as it follows tight restrictions on length and weight.
It comes as Vladimir Putin has been pounding cities across Ukraine as he continues his illegal invasion of the country.
Seventeen people were injured yesterday after Russia hit Kharkiv with S-300 missiles.
Several residential buildings were destroyed in the attack while no military targets were hit, raising concerns about civilian casualties.
The Kharkiv authorities advised over two dozen villages near the frontline to evacuate due to escalating Russian attacks in Ukraine’s northeast region.
Ukrainian troops have also been retaliating hard against Putin’s forces as the war reaches day 694.
Just two days ago, Russia declared a state of emergency after a torrent of kamikaze drones attacked a key Putin airbase.
At least 16 explosions rung through the night in Russia‘s border city of Voronezh after air defence systems reportedly intercepted the incoming aerial vehicles.
The Mayor of Voronezh, Vadim Kstenin, said: “People were evacuated, and a nearby school was opened for them so that they could warm up.
“All services are in place and working.
“I ask everyone not to touch and not to approach the [drone] debris and fragments.
“We will repair the damage, and give people the opportunity to return home as soon as possible.”
On Monday, one of Ukraine’s UAVs was able to destroy one of Putin’s multi-million-pound tanks on the battlefield in Avdiivka.
Shocking footage showed how the drone was able to focus on the fast-moving £3.2million T-80BVM tank, and slam straight into it.
The successful hit came just after two of Vladimir Putin’s most crucial planes worth £290million were shot down on Sunday.
One of Putin’s £260million spy planes disappeared, while a £30million bomber jet was set on fire after Ukrainian forces blasted them out of the sky above the Azov Sea.
Russian telegram channel, Military Informant, claimed it was a “new” and particularly effective “miracle” weapon given to Ukraine by NATO.
The channel described the aircraft hits as “another dark day for the Russian air forces”.
