A COUPLE preparing for an apocalypse revealed how they stockpile years’ worth of food and weapons to survive the end of the world – and they are encouraging others to do the same.

Montana residents, Colton and Terry, told The Sun how they’re professional “preppers” and will go to extreme lengths to defend their supplies should disaster strike.

As Russia continues its relentless onslaught in Ukraine and Israeli bombs pummel Gaza, the threat of WW3 is closer than ever before.

Terry and Colton believe it’s crucial to prepare in the best way possible and want to help others follow in their footsteps.

The eccentric pair were jolted into prepping action after the Chinese spy balloon “freaked” them out and sparked security fears.

Alarm bells rang out in 2023 when a giant white balloon floated over North American airspace and was promptly shot down.

The pentagon believed it was part of a “surveillance” operation but The Chinese government maintained it was a civilian airship that had been blown off course.

Terry said: “I kind of freaked out, I was thinking, oh, my gosh, we’re allowing an object from another country to just cruise over us.

“We have no control over what it’s doing. We don’t know what it’s doing, what type of information it’s grabbing.”

The pair, in their mid-30s, stockpile food, firearms and other survival gear to avoid being caught short.

They now have a social media channel teaching others how to be ready for anything from a natural disaster to full-blown global conflict.

Despite their social media presence the organised couple rarely appear online and are reluctant to share any personal information.

Terry explains this is a “security measure” and fears if people know her location amidst a crisis then they might turn up at her home to “raid” their supplies.

She added: “We typically try and keep a low profile and just try and be discreet. We don’t try to exaggerate or show off any type of anything that we have.”

It is also for this reason that both Terry and her partner take self-defence very seriously and have “a variety of firearms” they aren’t afraid to use when push comes to shove.

“You can never have enough ammo,” Terry said.

She added: “You’re gonna need to protect yourself and your family.”

The pair reckon they have enough food to hunker down and survive for two years but still admit their hyper-organisation can only go so far.

When pressed on her worst-case scenario Terry said: “Something nuclear.”

“I think your chance of survival is pretty slim there. But I think something that’s more realistic that could happen is, they turn our power grid off.”

Terry believes everyone should be prepping and insists she and Colton are just a “normal couple who like to prepare.”

“Just think of everything that you need on a day-to-day basis, whether that’s hygiene products, laundry detergents, portable showers tools to access, emergency water, self-defence items kits extra gas propane medications,” she said.

The expert preppers have made sure no stone is left unturned and even have puzzles, books and card games to stave off boredom during an apocalypse.

Although Terry and Colton have only recently taken up prepping it’s a practice which runs in Terry’s blood.

“I grew up actually with my father and he’s the one that kind of put the whole prepping mindset in my head, for example telling me to get an emergency kit for my vehicle.

“So I think our families are on board. They understand,” said Terry.

She also told The Sun her top tips for getting started with prepping saying: “I usually recommend people build a bug-out bag. So you just get a backpack and put some survival items in there.

“Whether that’s food, water, pocket knife, a compass, a survival tent that’s something affordable that everyone can do,” she said.

Terry and Colton have an army of more than 220,000 followers on a TikTok account dubbed “Housewife Prepper” where they share advice on prepping for all scenarios including an AI takeover.

Some viewers have asked if the pair find themselves “glued to the news” in a state of constant anxiety but Terry insists it’s the opposite and hoarding supplies is actually “comforting.”

Some followers also expressed fears they wouldn’t have enough money to prep.

One wrote: “So like half of us if not more are broke right now trying to feed our family so I don’t think we can afford any of that stuff.”

“We are barely affording life, let alone a whole backup life,” agreed another.

But the couple reassured them replying: ” If you look in my Amazon storefront, there’s actually a ton of affordable options. Many under $10.”

When were Chinese ‘spy’ balloons first spotted?

In January 2023, a Chinese ‘spy’ balloon was spotted floating across North American airspace before it was shot down on February 4 by the US Air Force.

Debris from the wreckage was recovered and analysed and the balloon appeared to be carrying intelligence-gathering equipment.

The Chinese Government strongly denied that it was a surveillance balloon and claimed that the airship was a civilian device to monitor the weather.

President Joe Biden said he believed that Chinese officials had not been aware of the balloon before the US claimed the device had simply blown off course.

But as another three floating objects appeared over US airspace tensions between America and China mounted.

The States called the balloon’s presence a violation of sovereignty and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken postponed his trip to Beijing.

Suspected Chinese spy balloons have been detected over the US previously, over Guam, Hawaii and Florida.
