Her father, aged 33, was taken to Formentera Hospital with “minor” injuries.
He “went to put a dummy in her mouth” before tragedy struck.
The rockfall tragedy happened at Es Copinyar beach, a tranquil beach with crystal-clear waters located at the southern end of Migjorn beach.
It is renowned for its natural beauty, with sandy shores and a picturesque described by visitors as paradise.
Local police cordoned off the area after the drama, which occurred around 12.20pm local time.
The victims are Spanish. The baby girl’s mum was not present at the time.
Local reports said the rockfall happened as the youngster’s dad got up to put a dummy in his daughter’s mouth.
A large rock is understood to have fallen on the baby’s back.
Locals who included health workers tried to revive her at the scene before help arrived.
An investigation into the tragedy is now underway.
