A mum was bombarded with calls from friends after her obituary was accidentally posted online — despite her being alive.

Faye Finaro, from Nottingham, was shocked to see her name and photograph appear in the obituary section of the Mansfield Chad, which included an option to send flowers to her grieving family.

The 39-year-old only spotted the post when a friend called to ‘check she wasn’t dead’ when they saw her name on the page’s ‘Legacy’ section.

She wrote on Facebook to reassure her concerned friends she was alive, and emailed the website to say there had been a mistake.

The beauty business owner thinks the mishap occurred when a post celebrating her new business got mixed up with the site’s legacy section.

‘I might have 30 days of flowers coming!’, the 39-year-old said.

‘It was a standard day in my life when I got a call from a friend asking me if I was alive.

‘My friend was quite concerned. I posted it on Facebook and quite a few people commented and thought it was hilarious – my son found it really funny.

‘I believe what’s happened is there must have been some crossover with the celebrations page they were doing and all the photos and captions were left in the database before they were outsourced to Legacy.

‘God knows how long it was there! Anyway, it was great when they told me they’d removed it – I’m not dead anymore!’

The mum had recently won an award for her business, and her friend had searched her name to find the news story on the win when they came across the obituary.

The site showed a pic of Faye, with the caption ‘Faye Finaro Obituary’, with an option to ‘send flowers’.

A spokesperson for Legacy said: ‘We are indeed aware of the issue and we are in correspondence with Ms. Finaro about the matter.’
