From the beautiful south coast to the cliffs of Dover and south Wales, there is plenty to choose from when it comes to a lovely beach in the UK.

And sometimes, it can be a bit overwhelming with so much choice. With that in mind, Express.co.uk takes a look at the top 10 beaches in the UK, according to TripAdvisor.

Bizarrely, only two are in the North of England, and there are none in Wales or Northern Ireland. Eight out of 10 are in southern parts of Britain, highlighting a very clear north-south divide.

As one of the UK’s most famous beaches, Brighton Beach is busy all-year-round.

Visitors can enjoy fish and chips by the pier, check out the thrilling rides at Palace Pier, or head to the futuristic i360 for breathtaking views.

One person wrote a review on TripAdvisor in which they called Brighton a “beautiful town with many charming spots,” while another fell in love with the “stunning sea” and “local restaurants along the seafront”.
