The death of two people found inside a Cardiff home was the result of an alleged murder-suicide, a neighbour has claimed.
It comes after a community was left shocked by the discovery of the bodies of a man and a woman inside a semi-detached home yesterday.
Detectives launched an investigation after emergency services were called to a house on Morfa Crescent in the Trowbridge area of Cardiff yesterday afternoon following the ‘sudden’ death of two people.
The bodies are thought to be those of a married couple who were found alongside their dead pet cocker spaniel following alleged gunfire heard from within the house.

Now a neighbour has claimed their death was a ‘murder-suicide, a mercy killing.’
The neighbour, who was not named and said they knew the couple well, told MailOnline: ‘The police aren’t looking for anyone else and I’ve been told it’s a murder-suicide, a mercy killing.
‘Apparently one of the neighbours heard three loud bangs coming from the house.
‘Everyone’s in shock, they were a lovely couple, completely devoted to each other.
‘What’s upset people as much as anything else is that their cocker spaniel was killed as well.’

The husband, estimated to be in his 70s like his partner, is believed to be retired. He cared for his wife who was a wheelchair user who neighbours claimed was in ‘declining health.’
South Wales Police told Metro.co.uk it is continuing to investigate the ‘sudden deaths of two people at a property in Trowbridge, Cardiff.’
The force said in a statement: ‘Next of kin are being supported and enquiries are on-going to establish the cause and circumstances of their deaths.
‘Formal identification and post-mortem examinations will take place in due course.’
It thanked the local community ‘for its patience and understanding while cordons remain in place.’
Another local, who asked not to be named, said the couple were ‘nice’ and ‘quiet.’
