Daughter who posted explicit photos of her dad’s lover on an escort site jailed

A ‘vindictive’ daughter who shared naked photos of her dad’s lover on an escort site after finding out about his affair has been jailed.

Eleanor Brown, 24, who admitted disclosing a private photo or film without consent, was sentenced today to three years in prison.

Leeds Crown Court previously heard that Geoff Brown, 61, a retired police officer, had an extra-marital affair with the woman over a decade ago.

His mistress sent him the nude photos, but when his wife, Sarah 57, later discovered them, she forwarded them to her daughter several years later.

Brown then uploaded the compromising images of the woman along with a phone number for her husband to an escort site called ‘Beaver Street’ in 2022.

She was encouraged to share the photos by her sister Sophie Brown – then a serving police officer – who left her job before she could be sacked by West Yorkshire Police.

Brown also posted abusive comments on a Facebook business page belonging to the husband of the woman in 2022, calling her a “home-wrecking s***” and a “tramp”.

There were also messages uploaded on the advertising platform Nextdoor and photos were sent to the victim’s husband over WhatsApp.

Despite denying the charges, Eleanor Brown told police that she was “half” guilty and attempted to justify her actions.

She originally stood trial but changed her pleas to guilty partway through the proceedings.

In a victim impact statement, read to the court by prosecutor Lucy Brown, the female victim said she “constantly feels nauseous and anxious”.

She said she felt “violated” and feared the pictures could emerge in the future, meaning she would have to “live through this nightmare again”.

Mitigating for Brown, Harry Crowson said learning about her father’s affair had caused “trauma”, having found out when she was just a teenager.

He said of Brown, who has no previous convictions: “She became a warrior in a war she ought not to have been fighting.

“She feels resentment that is perhaps attributed in the wrong places. She needs to stop fighting a battle that is not hers.”

But Judge Alex Menary said Brown’s actions were persistent and called her “vengeful and vindictive”.

He gave her minimal credit having changed her pleas only after the victim had been forced to give evidence at trial.

He said Brown’s attitude after she was arrested showed she was “utterly, utterly unapologetic” and “totally devoid of any moral compass whatsoever”.

He added that her “lack of remorse was staggering”.

Judge Menary jailed Brown for three years and gave her a lifelong restraining order to stay away from the woman.
