An NYPD officer was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Tuesday night — leading another cop to fire their weapon, according to police and sources.

The chaos unfolded when police spotted a 25-year-old man in a dark sedan driving recklessly on Sutter Avenue and Forbell Street in East New York at around 9:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

The cops tried to pull over the vehicle and when the officers approached on foot, the driver sped up, striking one of them, police said.

That’s when one of the officers discharged their weapon – firing at least one shot, according to police sources. 

Nobody was struck by the gunfire, the sources said.

The 25-year-old driver was taken into custody with charges pending, cops say.
