Natwest’s banking app has gone down and left thousands of people unable to access their money.

Over a thousand customers reported the issue as of 9am this morning, according to outage site DownDetector.

The vast majority of complaints came from customers unable to access the banking app, with other reporting problems with the desktop version.

Natwest has said it is aware of the issue and has advised customers to use online banking or calling the telephone team if they urgently need to access their accounts this morning.

Responding to customers on social media, the banking giant said they are not sure when the issue is expected to be resolved but have instructed their IT teams to investigate the problem.
