Temperatures are dropping significantly in many parts of the UK
As the Met Office issues snow and ice warnings for the UK, our map shows where temperatures are set to plummet.
Large parts of the country – especially Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland – are already experiencing a chilly start to the week today and for many its set to get even colder tomorrow.
Some areas of northern Scotland will likely see temperatures fall to as low as -2°C, with southern Scotland and northern England set to be slightly warmer but still facing a bracing 1-2°C.
On Sunday the Met Office issued a Yellow snow and Ice warning for several areas of the UK going as far down south as the Midlands, which are set to last until tomorrow.
A further warning has been issued for parts of Scotland that will last until Wednesday.
It’s possible up to 20cm (around 8in) of snow could fall on higher ground inScotland and northern England.
There is a small chance of up to 10cm (4in) of snow settling at lower levels, which could prove disruptive, forecasters said.
The UK Health Security Agency issued a warning that the low temperatures could cause a greater risk to life for vulnerable people.

They said that the cold could impact health and social care services, with more demand than usual.
There have also been warnings that both rail and road travel could be disrupted.
National Rail urged travellers to check to see if their train is running as normal before setting off, while National Highways warned those travelling in areas hit by the coldest weather to be extra careful on roads.
Last night the lowest temperature was recorded at RNAS Yeovilton, in Somerset, which was -0.9C, while USK in Wales recorded the highest temperature of 14.1C.
