A Euphoria star has revealed that the production for season 3 is expected to finish by summer 2025. Since season 2 wrapped in early 2022, the hit series has encountered several road blocks that pushed production of the third season to further dates. In the meantime, Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo, who plays Narcotics Anonymous sponsor Ali Muhammad in the hit HBO show, is preparing to make his directorial debut with Scandalous!, starring his Euphoria co-star, Sydney Sweeney.
Domingo told Deadline that he’s expecting filming of Euphoria season 3 to complete in the summer of 2025. The star revealed that he planned to go into pre-production with Sweeney for his film right after they are “both done with Euphoria,” which is expected to happen in the “third quarter of next year.” Teasing about his upcoming directorial debut, Domingo shares that it’s “a beautiful, sweet film” that’s about “the possibility of love.” Check out what he said below:
Our goal is to shoot it right after we’re both done with
Euphoria
, so hopefully I’ll go into prep right after that next year, probably in the third quarter of next year, and then hopefully we’ll make a beautiful, sweet film that’s really about the possibility of love, but under many eyes, trying to have privacy, trying to have love, trying to have a life. And I think it’s something that Sydney and I both know very well. We’re trying to advocate for your humanity again in your life.
What This Means For Euphoria Season 3
Euphoria Season 3 Will Deal With The Cast’s Busy Schedule
Filming for Euphoria season 3 was previously reported to be expected to begin in January, which marks almost three years after season 2 wrapped. The HBO hit series’ breakout stars such as Zendaya, Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi being booked for other projects have made season 3 production more difficult to find a window that works for everyone. Even though the network has confirmed filming, many are concerned that production could again be delayed.

Euphoria Season 3: Best Theories & What We Know So Far
With Euphoria season 3 in the works, there are some looming questions Screen Rant has theories for.
Zendaya is joining the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s next film, while returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as MJ in the fourth Spider-Man installment. With the release dates of the two projects only being a week apart in mid 2026, Zendaya’s schedule is packed for next year. Meanwhile, Elordi is joining Margot Robbie on Emerald Fennel’s remake of Wuthering Heights, which is gearing up for a 2025 shoot in the U.K. Sweeney and Domingo’s project coming right after Euphoria season 3 again confirms the limited window for HBO’s series to happen.
Our Take On Euphoria Season 3
It’s Very Likely To Happen
It’s not a secret that there are challenges for the third season to return, but Domingo’s comment suggests that despite the main cast’s upcoming projects and busy schedule, they are making time for the production of Euphoria season 3 next year. While Zendaya’s upcoming commitments make fans worry a little, Domingo’s comment is a positive sign that shows a high likelihood of the series’ return.
Euphoria season 2 ended on a haunting note, leaving several characters’ fates in the air. Even though season 3 will include a time jump, the new season will also offer some answers that fans are dying to know. While the previous two seasons focused mainly on depicting the high school experience, the new season will tackle adulthood and the complexities of the “real world.“
