Warning: SPOILERS for My Hero Academia’s epilogue (volume 42)

During the ending of the My Hero Academia manga series, Deku is seen receiving a high-tech suit that would help him recover the abilities he lost during the battle against Shigaraki. This support gear, inspired by Armored All Might, was lamentably barely visible in chapter #430, with its only appearance occurring during the final page.

Kohei Horikoshi, the series creator, gave fans a new chance to see this amazing suit in action, with a more detailed version depicted in the new series epilogue. The extra chapter, found in volume #42 of the manga, includes a new amazing shot of the suit being used by Izuku as he prepares to save the day.

Deku’s Armor Is Seen In Action For The First Time

The Epilogue Allows Fans To See His New Gear In Full Display

After his final battle against All for One and Shigaraki, Deku said goodbye to One for All and all the Quirks contained in it. The loss of his powers forced him to retire as a hero early in his career, spending the next eight years fulfilling his dream of helping others by teaching at U.A. High. Nonetheless, at the end of chapter #430, Deku was gifted by his friends an advanced armor to help him chase his dreams again. During this entry, Izuku’s suit was visible for only one page, leaving fans wondering how it would look in action.

The epilogue of volume #42, which continues the story after the last chapter of the series, made sure that readers would have the chance to see Deku’s armor in all of its glory. As he jumps along with his friends to patrol the city, Izuku’s body is surrounded by metal, which begins to take the form of his iconic hero outfit. The material, which seems to be able to separate into minuscule pieces, appears to be a much more advanced version of the Armored All Might, tailored to Deku’s needs. Deku also mentions that he is using his free time to test and get accustomed to the many Quirks imitated by the armor.

The technology used in it is impressive, as the entire suit is hinted to be hidden inside a suitcase, helping him always be prepared to jump into action. Unlike his previous costumes, which were made mostly out of cloth, Izuku’s new suit is entirely made of metal, a detail that was not visible in chapter #430. While not clear, it appears as if his boots allow him to fly, imitating his former Float Quirk. Overall, the epilogue of the manga portrays Deku’s armor as one of the most technologically advanced pieces of support gear ever constructed.

Deku’s Armor Is A Symbol of Class 1-A’s Unity

All His Friends Spent Years Saving To Buy Him This Gift

When Izuku received his suit of armor for the time in chapter #430 of the My Hero Academia manga, All Might revealed that it was a gift from his friends. The members of class 1-A, with Bakugo as the planner, spent eight years saving money to commission such advanced support gear. This, along with the heartwarming reunion the class enjoys during the epilogue, proves how united Aizawa’s former students are. Deku’s armor is a representation of one of the series’ main tenets, the need for cooperation and friendship to create a better future for everyone.

My Hero Academia’s epilogue did an amazing job addressing many of the concerns of fans about the ending of the series. Giving readers a detailed illustration of Deku’s suit is one of the best decisions Horikoshi could have made. Seeing the protagonist fight once again with incredibly advanced armor was an ending worthy of such an incredible series.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
