A father-of-seven has died after heavy winds from Storm Darragh caused a tree to fall on his car.
Tributes are flowing in for Kher Hussain Shahin, who had been driving in Erdington, Birmingham, on Saturday, when his car was crushed.
Paramedics rushed to the scene as the storm blew through, where they pronounced Mr Shahin dead.
Local councilor Majid Mahmood told The Sun: ‘Kher was a was a hardworking family man, 56 years old, and the proud father of 7 children.
‘He was a community minded person and did a lot of work for charitable organisations operating in Bangladesh supporting the less fortunate.’
West Midlands Police’s Roads Policing Unit said their thoughts are with Mr Shahin at this time.
Sgt Benjamin Parsons added: ‘A report will be passed onto the coroner. Anyone who saw what happened or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage, is asked to please get in touch.’
