Months after Baby P’s mum was recalled to prison after breaching her licence conditions, she could be released again.
Tracey Connelly, 42, was jailed at the Old Bailey in 2009 for causing or allowing the death of her 17-month-old son Peter at their home in Tottenham, north London, on August 3, 2007.
She covered up her son’s horrific injuries before the toddler’s death, but has been referred for parole for a fifth time.
A spokesperson told the Mail: ‘We can confirm the parole review of Tracey Connelly has been referred to the Parole Board by the Secretary of State for Justice and is following standard processes.
‘Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.’
She was released on licence in 2013, but recalled to prison in 2015 for breaching her parole conditions.
Connelly was freed again in 2022 after probation officers said she was unlikely to offend again.

The tragic death of 17-month-old baby Peter sparked outrage after he was found dead in their north London home.
Peter had been in Connelly’s care when he died in the hands of her paedophile partner Steven Barker.
The youngster had suffered more than 50 horrific injuries in eight months before his death.
Her actions were described as ‘cruelty’ and ‘pure evil’ by the former Justice Secretary Dominic Raab in 2022, who opposed her release.
The dad of Peter said in September that he was ‘happy’ the toddler’s mum was been recalled to prison two years after she was freed.

Baby P’s dad said of the news: ‘I was obviously happy that she had gone back to prison. To be honest, I just don’t care about her; when I hear that something has happened I just shrug.
‘She can go to hell for what she did so far as I am concerned. She is nothing to do with me now.’
A Prison and Probation Service spokeswoman said on Tuesday: ‘Offenders released on licence are subject to strict conditions and we do not hesitate to recall them to prison if they break the rules.’
Speaking to the Mirror, Baby P’s dad said he was told of the recall but not the reason why. But he suggested ‘it must be pretty serious’.
