The Real Housewives of Potomac has been another hit franchise for Bravo, and there’s curiosity surrounding what happened to Katie Rost after the first season. After being fired, Katie lived a drama-free life after a broken engagement and child custody issues. Now, Bravo stans are finding out what the former fan favorite has been up to since starring in RHOP season 1. As one of the most overlooked of the best reality TV shows, the cast still packs a punch. RHOP season 8 returned, but Katie still wasn’t a part of the bunch.

Katie even called off another engagement to a man named Jesse, who she only dated for five months.

In 2019, Katie broke her own rules regarding keeping her life private as she opened up about her pregnancy struggles. The former reality star shared that she experienced a devastating miscarriage and revealed that she had three in total. Katie also noted losing her most recent pregnancy, whom she called Baby Quinn. Besides her devasting loss, Katie has been focusing on her work for the Ronald F. Rost Charitable Foundation, named after her late father. Despite leaving reality TV, Katie did make a quick appearance on RHOP season 7 at Karen Huger’s spring fling party at the start of the season.

Since leaving RHOP, Katie has been mostly out of the spotlight, sporadically appearing in episodes of the show since she made her debut. While it doesn’t seem like Katie will return full-time soon, she has remained in the spotlight. She is politically active and fights for the causes they believe in.

Katie is living her best life since leaving RHOP and in 2024, she is prioritizing her well-being and sobriety. She has been candid about her struggles with recovery and has even discussed her journey and the challenges she has faced on social media. While Katie had a few setbacks, she emphasized the importance of honesty and perseverance, receiving support from fans. In an Instagram post from November 28, Katie shared a photo of herself makeup-free, with her caption implying that she’s continuing to stay in recovery thanks to the support she receives from her grandmother.

Despite Katie doing so well in her sobriety, she revealed just one day later that she had decided to check into rehab. She took her followers on her journey to the center, revealing that she enjoyed a pizza and a tuna salad before checking into the facility. Katie has been through a lot since fans last saw her on RHOP, and it’s great to see her putting her health ahead of anything else. While Katie is focused on her well-being, she did give RHOP cast member Mia Thorton a shout-out for how much she is enjoying her on RHOP season 9.

Katie was a great addition to the show, she clearly needed to step away from the spotlight. She was already going through a lot when she first joined RHOP, and it seems she only got progressively worse as her time on the show continued. While many would love to see Katie return, her The Real Housewives of Potomac days are likely behind her for good.
