A man in the middle of a haircut ran outside to help a police officer being attacked in the street.
Kyle Whiting, 32, was in Haron Barber’s in Warrington, Cheshire when he saw a man at a bus stop hit the police man, throw him to the ground and hold him down.
Within a second of the attack Kyle can be seen sprinting towards the pair, as his barber’s cloak – still tied around his neck – rather aptly flies in the wind behind him.
He then grabs the man, pulls him off the officer and keeps hold of him as other witnesses gather around to help.
Another officer from a marked police car parked around the corner then ran over, before a second squad vehicle pulled up and the man was detained.
The officer who was attacked suffered a broken finger in the scuffle – which happened at 11.40am on Tuesday in Lovely Lane.
He is also suffering from sore ribs.
Kyle told NeedToKnow: ‘I was sitting in the chair getting the back of my head shaved.

‘The barber stopped and was looking in the mirror for about 10 seconds, then went to the window and started recording [just before the assault happened].
‘I got up from my chair, it all happened so quickly.
‘Grateful to have helped, and glad no one else was hurt.
‘My sister is a police officer, and if she was in this situation, I’d appreciate a Good Samaritan coming in to help her if it is safe to do so.
‘No one is paid enough to be punched in the face unless you’re Conor McGregor.’
UK Cop Humour, which shared the video online, joked: ‘Not all heroes wear capes…but this one does.
‘Can we take a moment to applaud this fella, mid-haircut, but dashing out to aid a copper.

‘Not enough people like you around.
‘Kyle was keeping an eye on what was going on outside, because his sister is a police officer.
‘Upon seeing the single-crewed officer attacked, he dashed out mid-haircut without a thought for his own safety to assist the officer.’
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: ‘Officers have thanked a member of the public for his support after an officer was assaulted in Warrington.
‘The incident occurred at around 11.40am on Tuesday, 17 December in the Lovely Lane area.
‘As the assault was taking place a member of the public from a nearby hairdressers intervened to assist the officer.
‘A 50-year-old man was subsequently arrested in relation to the matter.
‘He has since been passed to the care of health professionals.’
Kyle returned to the barbershop after the incident to finish his haircut.
