His sister Courtney George said she is desperate for information as he wouldn’t usually go 48 hours without talking to her.

The dad from Belfast was reported missing after he failed to get on his flight back to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

John had reportedly been holidaying at a friend’s home in Alicante until he left to meet friends in Benidorm.

His sister said the unemployed father has not contacted her in nine days.

Courtney revealed that his two young sons, 13 and six, have pleaded to Santa to bring their dad back home for the festive day.

The pharmacy assistant said “all his kids want for Christmas is for him to come home”.

Courtney revealed the news that she was planning to welcome John home for Christmas but the family is now filled with worry.

She said: “I have to have Christmas for my own kids but I would happily set my tree on fire and run away from this nightmare.”

She added: “I haven’t eaten in five days and have been physically sick because it’s been nine days without contact.”

Courtney also explained why the father of two had initally travelled to Spain.

She added: “We’ve lost a family member recently and he was really upset and thought he needed a holiday.

“His youngest is very confused and the 13-year-old has seen everything on social media and is very distressed.

“They love their daddy.”
