Speaking of point guards, Hartenstein has had the luxury of playing alongside SGA this season and bringing his A-game playing alongside Knicks point guard, Jalen Brunson. While chatting with Hartenstein he shared what the similarities and differences are in playing alongside both All-Star guards. “They have a lot of similarities and they’re both team-first guys; that’s the similarities,” the Thunder big man shared. “They both can get to the midrange but it’s different. I mean, with Brunson it was really more of me really trying to get him open and establishing the two man game a little bit and we’re playing off of each other I think a little bit; and then sometimes with Shai, sometimes it’s just better to just get out of his way and let him do his thing because he’s so skilled offensively. Jalen is super skilled but I think it’s different. It’s so different. They’re both great players but again, you just have to adjust to every player I feel like. It’s been going well with Shai and we have to keep doing that connection.”

Some matchup rankings headed into Clippers at Oklahoma City for Thursday night
Oklahoma City has already shown that they can shut down the Clippers or light them up. Just not in the same game, yet. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has also shown that he is not guardable. Might get ugly. pic.x.com/ZhV2BnOfsC – 1:56 PM

This is a really good matchup to see the difference in the ways Rudy vs. Isaiah Hartenstein makes defenses react to the pick and roll. With Hartenstein you have to be aware of his push shot and give him attention on rolls nearly right away – with Gobert the Thunder are able to – 8:35 PM

Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein has become an investor in the EuroCup and Bundesliga team Ratiopharm Ulm, as announced officially. -via BasketNews / December 28, 2024
Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein has joined the ownership group of German basketball club Ratiopharm Ulm. Hartenstein is the son of Florian Hartenstein, a German-American basketball coach who played professionally in Germany. Isaiah Hartenstein grew up in Germany and played for QTSV Quakenbrück. The 7-foot, 250-pounder purchased ownership months after signing his first major contract in the NBA, a three-year, $87 million pact. “I got involved because I was searching for a German team that I could be a part of — one that, if I were younger and trying to make the next level, would get me there,” Hartenstein said. “I feel like they do a great job of developing young talent and helping them advance in their careers. The team is well-run, and even though they focus on helping players take the next step, they remain competitive. That mix was really exciting for me. And growing up, I always loved the fans they had.” -via Andscape / December 27, 2024
