Fallon Sherrock fell one match short of automatically making it through to the Final Stage of Qualifying School.

Sherrock won four matches on day two of the UK Qualifying School in Milton Keynes but was defeated 5-3 by Ireland’s John O’Shea in the last 16.

However, due to her good run on Tuesday, fighting back from 4-1 down against Martin Grearson in the top 64 to win with a 121 checkout and 12-dart leg, she is up to 25th in the Order of Merit and looks all but certain of booking her spot in the Final Stage via that route.

The PDC Qualifying Schools provide any darts player aged 16 and above with a chance to earn a two-year PDC Tour Card, with Qualifying School being held at venues in the UK and Germany simultaneously across a seven-day period.

The top eight from each day qualify automatically for the Final Stage, while the remaining places in the Final Stage – up to a total of 128 at each venue – are decided from an Order of Merit.

Nathan Girvan, O’Shea, Scott Campbell, Kelvin O’Keefe, Michael Flynn, Jim Moston, Ted Evetts, and Jamie Atkins all booked their spots in the Final Stage on day two.
