One of the most popular Apple TV+ sci-fi shows is available to stream for free ahead of its new season. Apple TV+ is a subscription streaming service owned by Apple Inc. that launched in 2019. The streamer has become populated with a vast library of original content featuring major stars and notable directors. This includes the Apple TV+ movies CODA, which won Best Picture, and Killers of the Flower Moon, which reteamed director Martin Scorsese with star Leonardo DiCaprio.
However, there are quite a few Apple TV+ shows that have also made a huge impression on audiences. Some of their biggest critical and commercial hits are the Jason Sudeikis sports comedy Ted Lasso and the historical drama Shōgun, as well as franchise installments like the Monsterverse’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. They have also frequently dabbled in the sci-fi genre with series including the Isaac Asimov adaptation Foundation, the alternate history Space Race drama For All Mankind, and one of their biggest shows, which just launched on a new platform.

Partnering with Apple ahead of the highly anticipated Severance season 2 and being able to create an exclusive fan experience that is available to millions of U.S. households including offering Apple TV+ content outside of the Apple ecosystem, on the Roku Channel for the first time ever is incredibly exciting for us. Part of the magic of the Roku platform is that we can work with our brand partners to create bespoke experiences that our viewers love and achieve our partner’s goals.
Our Take On Severance Streaming On The Roku Channel
It Could Bring A Lot Of Attention To Apple TV+
This move to bring the show to The Roku Channel could pay huge dividends for the streamer. In addition to drawing in new viewers, this could allow fans whose Apple TV+ subscriptions have lapsed a chance to catch up with the show, as the Severance season 1 finale aired nearly three years ago, on April 8, 2022. Because the new season will not be streaming for free, the platform could experience a significant subscriber boost as the twisty series engrosses new and returning viewers alike among the 90 million users boasted by Roku.
Severance season 2 debuts on Apple TV+ on January 17.
