Melania Trump said in an interview Monday that she is excited for another four years in the White House -— and is ready to be a key adviser to her husband, President-elect Donald Trump.
The incoming first lady told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” that she is more confident now she understands “the rules” and “process” of being in the White House — and that she will help her husband as they “have a lot to do to put the country back in shape.”
“The first time was challenging, we didn’t have much of the information. The information was withheld from us by the previous administration,” she said of Trump’s predecessor before his first term, President Barack Obama.

“But this time I have everything. I have the plans, I already packed, I have selected the furniture. So it’s a very different transition this time, the second time around,” she said confidently.
“I think it will be an exciting four years. We have a lot to do to put the country back in shape,” she said.
The first lady made clear that she is not deterred by people underestimating her abilities.
“I just feel that people didn’t accept me. Maybe they didn’t understand me the way maybe they do now. And I didn’t have much support,” she said of her first term.
“Maybe some people see me as just a wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts, I have my own, ‘yes’ and ‘no,’” she continued.
The 54-year-old conceded that while she doesn’t always agree with what her husband “is saying or doing” she is committed to helping out his administration when she can.

“I give him my advice and sometimes he listens, and sometimes he doesn’t, but that’s OK,” she said.
Melania, who was promoting her upcoming Amazon Prime documentary about her transition back into the White House, said her priorities for the upcoming administration are being a mom, a first lady and a wife.
