Since Neagley only appears briefly in Reacher season 3 and is not actively involved in the titular character’s mission, viewers may be curious about what she does when she is not working with Jack Reacher. In its opening arc, Reacher season 3 closely adapts Lee Child’s Persuader. However, like its predecessors, it does not shy away from introducing a few minor changes. For instance, even though Neagley is not a part of the original Jack Reacher book, she briefly appears in Reacher season 3’s opening episodes.

She reveals that her client base includes everyone from government entities to high-income individuals. However, despite this, she takes pro bono cases every once in a while, which have less to do with financial gains and more with her desire to do the right thing and help people in need.

Neagley’s profession explains how she is able to easily get information on Zachary Beck and his henchmen, Chapman and Paulie, in Reacher season 3. Given how a Reacher spinoff that focuses solely on Neagley is already in the works on Amazon, it is hard not to believe that it will revolve around Neagley’s adventures as a private investigator. Considering the Reacher season 2 story setup, the spinoff will likely walk viewers through Neagley’s investigations for high-profile clients while highlighting how she makes the world a better place with her pro bono missions.

Neagley’s Military Past & Special Investigators Role Explained

Unlike The Other Special Investigators, Neagley Was Not An Officer

Reacher’s military backstory in season 2 revealed that, unlike the other members of the 110th Special Investigation Unit, Neagley was not an officer in the military. Instead, she was enlisted, which made her rank below officers. Although many officers looked down on her, Reacher and the Special Investigators always had her back. Despite being an officer himself, Reacher asked her not to call him “Sir.”

Neagley was selected to join Reacher’s 110th Special Investigation Unit because the Alan Ritchson character could see how incredibly capable and resourceful she was, regardless of her rank. Reacher recognized that she had all the right skills to become a worthy investigator and cared little about the hierarchy the military had enforced on them. The upcoming Reacher spinoff series is expected to delve deeper into Neagley’s military past and why she decided to get enlisted in the first place.
