Bachelor Nation’s Kelsey Anderson Explains Why She Got Veneers

Kelsey Anderson is opening up about her decision to get veneers.

“Breaking news, Kelsey Anderson has fake teeth,” Anderson, 26, quipped in a Sunday, February 23, video shared via Instagram. “But seriously, I did get nine veneers and one crown. I know that I am not bound to tell you guys this, but in my moral compass it feels like what is right. I don’t want to just brush past the fact that I have a new smile, or let people think that it’s whitening strips or whatever it is that has enhanced my smile.”

Anderson explained that she broke three of her teeth while in college about seven years ago and has not been able to “brighten” her teeth because “then you’d be able to obviously tell the fake teeth.” Anderson noted that her two temporary veneers were chipping, and she had always been planning on getting them redone.

“Recently I went to the dentist and I got a regular checkup and then the dentist was like, ‘Wait, there’s something kind of weird going on up here, let’s go get a head CT.’ Realized that I had an infection in my face from seven, six years ago, whenever I broke this tooth right here, they had to do a root canal and apparently — I don’t know if it wasn’t done properly, or what it was — but there has been an infection growing there for the past however long and it has caused bone decay and I had to get the root canal redone.”

Anderson, who said the dentist could not “believe” that the infection wasn’t causing her “severe pain,” decided that was her time to get new veneers so that all of her teeth will “match.”

“They’ll know in about six months whether they got everything out and it’s all clean,” Anderson explained. “If it’s still infected, they’re going to have to go in, do surgery and bone grafting. But hopefully it takes and we’re all clear and we don’t have to do that and my bone grows back.”

Anderson clarified that her veneers had “nothing” to do with her “not liking” her smile, noting that she had “always” loved her smile.

“I just wanted my smile to all match,” Anderson said. “I’ve always had insecurities about my teeth. They are very brittle, I’m very prone to breaking my teeth. I think that the dentist did a great job of trying to keep my original smile and just enhancing it and I’m just very happy with my smile.”

Anderson quipped that anyone who doesn’t like her new smile can “save their energy,” because “it’s not changing.” She added, “I’m happy and I’m healthy, and that’s what matters most.”

Before the video came to a close, Anderson shared a before-and-after picture of her smile. “I’m excited and I love my smile,” she said.

Anderson, who’s engaged to season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei, previously clapped back at trolls who commented on her teeth while she appeared on the ABC reality series.

In a TikTok posted in February 2024, Anderson playfully pretended to “block” users who poked fun at her smile. She wrote “Kelsey’s teeth are yellow” over the video and captioned her post, “That’s all y’all got? #dentist #pls #help #me.”
