The holidaymaker tried to force his way inside the venue, where several local women in their early 20s were working, while demanding to be served beer.

But the Brit, who managed a packaging company in Salisbury, Wiltshire, was kicked out before two male bouncers on a motorcycle chased him.

Police said they attacked him in a nearby alleyway but then called the emergency services when he was knocked unconscious.

An ambulance arrived and paramedics performed CPR but the Brit was pronounced dead at the scene around 200 meters from the 91karakoe bar he had tried to visit.

Officers are now questioning the two Thai men, Phurinat, 32, and Boonchou, 29, over the alleged attack in the Bang Sue district of the capital.

Speaking today, Lieutenant Colonel Apichai Hwanjit, Deputy Superintendent of the Bang Po station, said: “The tourist reached the entrance to the bar but the staff would not let him inside.

“He ran away and the two employees from the bar followed him on a motorcycle to a nearby side-street.

“According to the CCTV footage, the two of them together restrained the foreigner and they had a physical confrontation.

“During the scuffle, they pushed and wrestled, causing the foreigner to fall. We are unsure if there was any pressure applied during the fall that caused the death, so we are waiting for the forensic results.

“After he fell, the security guard nearby called the police. At the scene, the two individuals who fought with the foreigner remained there and did not flee.”

Officers said they received a report at 2.45 am while the paramedics received a call at 2am and arrived at the scene at 2.20am.

Police said that CCTV showed that the Brit did not appear to be drunk when he arrived at the shop because he was ‘running in a straight line’.

However, they said he was “shouting and causing a commotion”.

They said he had been running for around half a mile from a nearby supermarket before he arrived at the karaoke shop, which doubles as a brothel with girls available throughout the night into the early hours of the morning.

Following a brief scuffle at the bar, he was chased by the pair on a motorcycle and ran into the nearby street, where a longer brawl ensued.

The two Thai men claim the Brit tried to steal their mobile phone and then tried to mount their motorbike.

Officers are now investigating the final moments of the fight before the holidaymaker lost consciousness.

Lieutenant Colonel Apichai added: “Currently, we are waiting for the forensic results to determine whether the deceased was intoxicated or under the influence of any substances.

“It is crucial for the case to ensure clarity. We are waiting for the blood test results to check for drugs or alcohol. From the CCTV footage, he did not appear to be in a typical state of drunkenness.

“He was running, shouting, and causing a commotion, but he wasn’t completely out of control. He ran in a straight line, not stumbling like someone who is drunk.

“He ran a long distance, nearly a kilometre, starting from the area near the Makro shop, crossing the Phibunsongkhram overpass, and reaching the karaoke bar.”

Officers said that the British Embassy had been informed of the death.

The Sun has also contacted the Foreign Office for more information.

The Brit tourist’s professional profile shows he was born in Leuven, Belgium, and attended a private school.

He had taken part in an international rugby competition for young schoolboys.

He graduated from Leeds University in 2018 before being employed by Kite Packaging Group.

He had worked as manager for their company Shredhouse Ltd based in Salisbury since 2022.

Pictures of the social media page of the 91karaoke bar show young female staff in revealing dress. Customers can sit and drink with the girls while negotiating their rates for sexual services.

The death comes on the same day that a German tourist was seen being attacked by 10 local men in the nearby coastal town of Pattaya, which has become notorious for its crime and debauchery.
