The US military has sent at least five B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to highly strategic island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

These heavy bombers can obliterate targets with their huge 25 tonne bomb payload per jet.

This means the US’s deadly fleet of five could carry an astounding 125 tonnes of bombs.

These developments, just days after Trump‘s massive attack on Houthi rebels, send another stark warning to the militants and their Iranian backers.

Both Yemen and Iran are within range from the crucial Diego Garcia base.

This moving aerial military arsenal has included essential accessories for the deadly B-2 bombers.

Satellite imagery also showed three C-17 cargo planes and ten refuelling tankers being sent toward the isolated British territory, according to analyst IntelFrog.

Several B-2 bombers were spotted moving from the Whiteman AFB in Missouri to Diego Garcia.

These mass movements of deadly military aircraft, especially in this region, are unusual and could signal an extreme escalation in tension between the US and Iran.

The US’s Air Force Global Strike Command confirmed some of the countries deadly jets had been moved in recent days, according to TheWarZone.

It said: “U.S. Strategic Command, its components, and subordinate units routinely conduct global operations in coordination with other combatant commands, services, and participating U.S. government agencies to deter, detect and, if necessary, defeat strategic attacks against the United States and its allies.

“To preserve operational security, we do not discuss details about exercises or operations.”

Trump launched a blitz on Houthi rebels in the capital Sanaa on 15 February in response to the terror group’s attacks on Red Sea shipping.

The Houthis have launched more than 100 attacks since November 2023, claiming they are targeting vessels linked to Israel over the war in Gaza.

The commander-in-chief addressed the militants directly in a blazing post on Truth Social.

He said: “YOUR TIME IS UP, AND YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY. IF THEY DON’T, HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!”

Trump also warned Iran to stop supporting the group and promised to hold them “fully accountable.”

Will Trump strike Iran?

DONALD Trump has made his loathing for Iran clear time and time again.

The US President sparked panic in Iran after he killed Qasem Soleimani in a 2020 airstrike.

Iran appeared to take the idea of assassinating Trump seriously with important figures in the country, like one Iranian spy, saying Trump should be executed.

Two hitmen were arrested as part of an alleged for-hire plot to take out Trump before the November 5 election.

The US President has threatened to blitz the nation and recently gave Iran a chilling two-month deadline to fall into line and strike up a new nuclear agreement.

Trump has also warned Tehran to immediately cease its support for the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

He threatened the nation would face consequences if they rejected a nuclear agreement offer.

Trump said that if a deal wasn’t made, Iran would have to face the US “militarily”.

He said: “Support for the Houthi terrorists must end IMMEDIATELY!

“Do NOT threaten the American People, their President, who has received one of the largest mandates in Presidential History, or Worldwide shipping lanes.

“If you do, BEWARE, because America will hold you fully accountable and, we won’t be nice about it!”

Images showed black smoke rising over the Sanaa airport complex, which includes a military facility.

The Houthi-run health ministry said in a post on X that at least 31 civilians were killed and 101 others injured, most of them women and children.
