Unlucky passengers on flight FR4757 were informed upon arrival to the tourist hotspot that none of their luggage had made it onboard the flight due to “time constraints”.

This followed after a security issue at Bristol Airport – where the flight departed from.

One group affected is some friends who travelled to the holiday destination for birthday and graduation celebrations.

Madeline Cooper, 22, told SomersetLive how the captain announced they made the decision to leave all the luggage behind and didn’t say what the apparent security issue was.

She added how her group were told that 70 bags didn’t fly – with only one pram making the journey.

People even thought it was a bizarre joke following the announcement.

Another member of the group, Sophie Payne, told the outlet that she – along with many others – have been left without their essential items.

She suffers from severe asthma and was left without her inhaler – calling the experience “really stressful” and meant she and her pals have had to search for a pharmacy in Gran Canaria.

The group said they were told the luggage could arrive by Saturday night, but are yet to receive any updates from Ryanair.

Madeline went on to say how there’s been “zero communication,” with those affected told to use the app but she expressed her worry at elderly passengers not having smartphones to download it.

She also shared how the group have had to purchase some essentials but don’t have the money to repurchase all their other items due to being students.

And with all the suncream in the bags, she added how a lot of people were apparently sunburnt.

Other passengers took to social media to express their fury with the situation.

One person posted: “Great start to the holiday as Ryanair decided to bring 0 of the suitcases from Bristol to Gran Canaria.

“No heart medication for me tomorrow.”

Another echoed: “Currently in Gran Canaria with zero belongings.”

As holidaymakers remain hopeful their luggage will arrive soon, some of the group are facing the reality of an hour-long round trip just going back to the airport to get their things.

The Sun has approached Ryanair and Bristol Airport for comment.
