The new romantic comedy show “Too Much,” produced by Lena Dunham and her husband, Luis Felber, is a show that is already making people turn their heads. This series has a humorous but touching approach to love, heartbreak, and re-establishing oneself, and is ideal weekend watch for anyone fond of real-life stories.

Release Date

Too Much will be released by Netflix on July 10, 2025, with all ten episodes together. Binge-watchers are happy for not having to wait and having the whole season ready all at once, where a viewer is able to watch Jessica through the whole season. Fans are excited to see Lena Dunham, and it will be a new experience to see Dunham behind the camera rather than on screen.

Cast

Too Much is full of good actors. Megan Stalter plays Jessica, who is a New Yorker who runs away to London following a failed relationship. Will Sharpe plays Felix, the British musician who catches her eye and heart. The series is filled with big names and familiar faces, including Emily Ratajkowski as Wendy Jones (the woman who broke Jessica’s heart), Richard E. Grant, Janicza Bravo, Rhea Perlman, Rita Wilson, Daisy Bevan, and Dunham herself in a supporting role. There are also fun guest appearances by Jessica Alba, Kit Harington (as Jessica’s father), Andrew Scott, Stephen Fry, Rita Ora, Jennifer Saunders, and more.

The Premise

The story follows Jessica, a producer overwhelmed by her messy life in New York. After a dramatic confrontation with her ex and his new girlfriend (Ratajkowski), she heads to Long Island, only to be offered a job in London by her boss, who just happens to be her former brother-in-law. Off she runs, ready to get a new life, and quickly gets acquainted with Felix. They are full of ups and downs, culture clashes, and a lot of humor, which are typical of romantic comedies.

Trailer

The trailer looks quite good, and you can get a decent taste of a mixed emotion. It involves the embarrassing, clumsy, and sweet scenes of Jessica and Felix, whereby the differences of their worlds prove to be more diverse – New York and London, mess and quietness. The teaser, released in June 2025, also hints at the number of people in the cast.

News and Updates

As of July 2025, Netflix has not renewed Too Much. The makers and cast are optimistic, however. Lena Dunham has discussed her desire to continue the story, in particular to see what the life-changing experience at the end of the first season led to. “Netflix has been such a supportive force to the vision (creating a romantic comedy that makes us root for love, brings joy, and has some jagged edges of life),” Dunham said when the show was announced.

The cast is loaded with major names and recognizable faces. Among the actors who make guest appearances during the season are Kit Harington, Jessica Alba, Rita Ora, Stephen Fry, and Jennifer Saunders. To audiences who may be interested in knowing the destination of the show, Dunham seems to be focused on crafting a show that is realistic, funny, yet heartwarming. In the event of a Season 2, we will probably see more of the messy, complicated affairs of Jessica and Felix in their love story, and maybe some more play of the charming crowd of characters that support the show.

Where to Watch

Too Much can be watched exclusively on Netflix. Each of the ten episodes is available to watch, so there is no need to wait for weekly releases. This show has something that you can watch when you feel like laughing, when you are craving a bit of drama, or simply need something new.
