Emergency services were called to reports of the incident at around midday on August 20 after the architecture student saw the gargantuan yellow scorpion on her clothes and screamed for help.
Staff quickly performed first aid on the 20-year-old before putting her in a wheelchair until paramedics arrived at the store in Guara, Brazil.
Alice was then whisked off to hospital where she was treated for five hours and given fluids.
Footage of the horrifying incident shows the panicked student sitting in a wheelchair before being transferred to the Asa Norte Regional Hospital.
She has since returned home but says she continues to suffer pain from the sting.
In a statement, Park Shopping said the customer was promptly attended to by its emergency team then taken to hospital.
The mall added that it maintains strict pest control protocols and that the safety and well-being of visitors and employees remain a priority.
A Zara spokesperson said: “Zara deeply regrets what happened and confirms that it is in direct contact with the customer, providing all necessary assistance.
“We take this case very seriously and are working to ensure that all appropriate preventative measures are taken.”
The horrific incident comes as a man filed a lawsuit against a Las Vegas Strip resort after being stung in the groin by a scorpion.
Michael Farchi, 62, was vacationing at The Venetian Resort when he claims he woke up in excruciating pain when a scorpion crawled into his underpants and stung his testicles.
“I just felt like somebody stabbing me in my private area,” Farchi told CBS affiliate KLAS.
When he went to the bathroom, Farchi said he saw a scorpion hanging by his underwear.
Farchi, who is from Agora Hills, California, said the sting felt like a “sharp glass or a knife.”
But now, ever since that harrowing day last December, Farchi said he’s suffered from PTSD, and it ruined his sex life with his wife.
“I can also indicate, as you saw in the complaint, we’re also making a claim for loss of consortium for Mr. Farchi’s wife,” Farchi’s attorney, Brian Virag, told KLAS.
Virag is suing the hotel on half of both Farchi and his wife, who claims the couple’s sex life has suffered dearly since the incident.
In the lawsuit, filed on August 27, Virag said the hotel owed “a duty of care to Plaintiffs to provide a clean, safe, and sanitary room… that was free of vermin, bed bugs, or similar things, including scorpions.”
