The bombshell news revealed her shocking crimes took place over several years, with one victim from April to June 2024 and another from 2017 to 2018.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office announced her plea on August 29, 2024, before Superior Court Judge Jill G. O’Malley.
As part of her plea agreement, Rizzitello is expected to be sentenced to a 10-year prison term.
The sentencing is scheduled for January 9, 2026. In addition to the prison sentence, she will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to parole supervision for life.
The prosecution will also seek to have her permanently forfeit her public office.
The charges stem from sexual relationships Rizzitello admitted to having with two of her teenage students.
The first case involved a 18-year-old student, with whom she had multiple sexual encounters in her car between April and June of 2024.
The investigation began after an anonymous tip was received by school officials, which led to a police inquiry.
Authorities found her seedy encounters took place in Wall, Belmar, and Brick.
The student informed authorities that Rizzitello had sent him nude photographs and that they had engaged in sexual acts in three New Jersey townships: Wall, Belmar, and Brick.
A subsequent search of the victim’s phone confirmed these accounts through “numerous communications and photographs of a sexual nature.”
It was also confirmed that the victim had told his friends about the sexual encounters he was having with his teacher.
Following her arrest on July 3, 2024, a second, earlier instance of misconduct came to light.
Rizzitello was accused of having a sexual relationship with another student, 17, between 2017 and 2018.
This second charge revealed a longer-standing pattern of behaviour.
Rizzitello, who taught ninth-grade English and SAT prep, resigned from her position just before her arrest.
She had been employed by the Wall Township Public Schools since 2013.
The Brick resident earned a salary of $62,000, state pensions show.
Wall Township Police Chief Sean O’Halloran commented on the case, calling it a “betrayal of trust” to both the victims and the school community.
He praised the victims for their courage in coming forward, emphasising that the protection of youth is a top priority for his department.
