A BELLIGERENT passenger has been kicked off a flight after telling an air hostess to “shut up”.

An American Airlines traveller has received a dose of instant karma after going back and forth with a flight attendant during a safety briefing.

In video footage posted to social media, the woman can be heard telling the flight attendant “she should shut up” at the beginning of a flight from Costa Rica to Dallas.

The air hostess immediately hit back at the rude passenger, asking her: “Do you want to get off the plane?”

“Because I don’t feel comfortable with you if you’re not going to follow instructions,” she continued.

The now viral video shows the moment the air hostess signals her colleagues to turn off the address system.

Playing dumb, the passenger said: “I can’t hear you” throughout the interaction.

The frustrated flight attendant continued to call out the passenger.

“You’re not on my list as someone who can’t hear,” she said.

“So I’m going to ask the pilot to remove you because you’re not complying.

“You know what you did right?”

The footage shows the passenger being berated for not turning off her phone.

The clip cuts out when the traveller agreed to comply with orders, but not for long.

A short time later, the video began again as the woman claimed she was being harassed by the air hostess.

She was eventually escorted from the plane, leaving her seatmate a “win”.

Jay Crenshaw – who was sitting next to the woman when the ordeal began – said an “empty middle seat is a win for me”.

He said he felt empathy for the flight attendant who “caught a stray”, but also for the rowdy passenger.

” She was having a bad morning and was obviously disturbed or irritated about something she was on the phone talking about,” he told the New York Post.

“The flight attendant might’ve caught a stray, I think the passenger knows she was wrong.

“She mentioned that she also lost her phone and had to borrow one,” he added.

Crenshaw said he was “definitely not excusing her behaviour”.

“We’ve all had bad days and have said bad things because of it, but we weren’t filmed,” he said.

“I hope people can remember this and give her a bit of grace.”
