He died from his injuries.
The backlash to the posts comes as Trump announced a suspect had been arrested on Friday.
School teachers posted celebration videos online, where even a special education teacher from King Elementary School in Framingham, Massachusetts, sang “God Bless America” while smiling.
The video shows teacher Samantha Marengo standing in front of a breaking news report of Kirk’s death.
The now deleted video was saved and reposted by an account named Libs of TikTok, with the comment: “THIS person teaches YOUR children”.
Teachers are part of a growing number of people making similar posts online, joining the likes of nurse Mykaela Grevious, who posted multiple celebratory videos online.
“No I will NOT mourn a known white supremacist whose entire platform was built on inciting violence, didn’t believe in empathy, and fell victim to his disgusting ideologies,” she posted.
“He was not an innocent man. He was a disgusting, vile human being.
“No one should mourn the wicked. The only people I feel empathy for are his children and anyone who had to witness his death,” she added.
Across the country in Naples, New York, another teacher called Kirk an “aspiring Goebbels” in a Facebook post.
