The former Prince Andrew has again at the center of public attention after his connection with Jeffrey Epstein, the defamed sex offender and trafficker.
The involvement of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has disgraced the reputation of the royal family. This is the first time after over 4 decades that a senior member of the British royal family has taken into custody.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the favourite child of Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ was arrested on Thursday, 20 February 2026, by British Police for sharing trade-related information while serving as the British trade envoy.
This incident is very shameful for the family. He has even served as a helicopter pilot for the Royal Navy during the 1982 war for the Falkland Islands with Argentina. Later he took on the trade and diplomatic roles and served as the UK’s special representative for International trade and investment from 2001 to 2011.
He was once connected with the Epstein case after Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the survivor of sex trafficking, filed a Rape case against the younger brother of King Charles III in 2021. Later, last year, Giuffre died by suicide. When asked about the incident, the brother of Giuffre, Sky Roberts, replied with eyes filled with tears, “We can’t tell her how much we love her, and that everything that she was doing is not in vain.”
How did the Epstein connection with Andrew begin?
During the investigation, he mentioned that Ghislaine Maxwell, the sex trafficking partner of Jeffrey Epstein, was the one who introduced him to Jeffrey in the 1990s.
The Former Prince Andrew was under police custody for 11 hours after his release in the late evening. He was seen leaving the police station, while seating at the back seat of the car. Officers said he is under investigation for now. When asked about his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, King Charles III said, “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course,’’ he added. “As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter.’’
However, Andrew hasn’t accepted any sexual obligation as of now. This time the investigation is not for sex obligation but for his relationship with Epstein for sending trade information about the British government.
When asked the President Donald Trump about the relationship of The Former Prince, Andrew, with the biggest sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein, he said, Its very sad and shameful, he also mentioned, “I think it’s so bad for the royal family,” he told to the Washington reporter.
