The false reports of Steve Harvey’s death allegedly are the result of artificial intelligence.
According to TheWrap, an article titled “Steve Harvey Passed Away Today: Remembering The Legacy Of A Comedy Legend” was published on Trend Cast News on Tuesday, December 17, and later aggregated on Newsbreak. The article had a future publish date of December 19, 2024.
It has since been presumed that the article is a result of an AI error. Us Weekly has reached out to Harvey’s rep for comment.
Harvey, 67, has not publicly addressed the hoax but has been active on his official Facebook and Instagram accounts throughout on Wednesday, December 18.
“Throwing it back to Christmas moments filled with love, laughter, and reflection. Grateful for my rock, my queen, Marjorie. Every year, every memory, every blessing,” he wrote in one Facebook post, sharing a holiday portrait with his wife.
Steve and his wife, Marjorie Harvey, have been married since 2007. The Family Feud host adopted her three children from past relationships: Morgan, Jason and Lori. Steve also shares twins Brandi and Karli and son Broderick with ex-wife Marcia Harvey and son Wynton with ex-wife Mary Shackelford.

Steve is often candid about fatherhood, including watching his children start dating.
“If I spot a bad one, I get rid of them,” Steve exclusively joked to Us in March. “I make no bones about it, so they’re very careful when they bring them. You can think a person is wonderful, but everybody’s wonderful in the beginning. Everybody, you always meet the mask.”
He added, “The mask can last for about 90 days, and then after a while, the mask starts unraveling, and I just try to wait on that period. Sometimes they make it, sometimes they don’t.”
According to Steve, he can suss out his daughters’ suitors’ intentions from the moment they meet.
“But if you come in the house, and I know right off the top that you’re just not a good guy, I start the reading process right away,” he explained. “I don’t say nothing to my daughter, I just, behind the scenes, I start working toward getting rid of this guy.”
Steve added, “[A] relationship becomes an elevator. It can take you up or it can take you down, so choose wisely.”
Steve further noted that he’s taught his sons to be “very respectful of women.”
“Treat them the way you want somebody to treat your sister and your mother and then go from there. And no other treatment is acceptable. So I think they got it,” Steve said before joking, “My daughters, I wish they’d listened to me more, but they got to go through it.”
