Putin is expected to answer some top questions regarding Russia’s health care system, infrastructure and social benefits.

He will also be under pressure to address questions about his illegal war with Ukraine which has now reached its third winter.

The tightly choreographed session, which is broadcast live by state-controlled TV stations, often sees the dictator reinforce his powerful image of control over his nation.

Millions of Putin’s brainwashed citizens tune in for the annual phone-in with more than two million questions being submitted this year, Russian state media reports.

Russia’s war correspondent Dmitry Kulko from Channel One and television presenter Alexandra Suvorova are hosting the event.

Putin kicked off the session by boasting about Russia’s economic performance, which he assured was “stable and developing”.

He said: “With the economy as a whole, the situation in Russia is stable, despite external threats and attempts to influence us.”

Speaking about the Russia-Ukraine war, he said: “The situation is changing dramatically. We’re moving along the entire front line every day.”

“We’re moving toward fulfilling the key objectives that we outlined at the start of the special military operation.”

The tyrant claimed that Russian forces are now capturing “square kilometres” of Ukrainian territory – and are “heroically” flushing out Kyiv’s troops in Kursk.

Vlad has lost hundreds of thousands of thousands of soldiers as his flailing invasion continues to stutter.

He has also deployed troops from North Korea who are now fighting alongside the Russian forces against Ukraine in the Kursk region.
