More than £8,000,000 in National Lottery jackpots remains unclaimed, and time is running out.

Christmas Day will see ticketholders in with a chance of bagging a £15million ‘Must Be Won’ jackpot.

But numerous lotto prizes worth a total of £8,064,694 have gone unclaimed since September. This includes four £1million jackpots, and £10,000 a month for 30 years.

That’s worth £3,600,000 over its lifetime. Also among the unclaimed prizes are wins worth tens of thousands of pounds.

If no one comes forward to claim them before the 180-day deadline, the money will fund National Lottery-backed projects across the UK.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery said: ‘What’s the perfect gift at Christmas?

‘We all have our own ideas of what we’d like to receive as a present but, surely getting your hands on a big National Lottery win trumps the traditional pair of socks or box of chocolates.

‘With millions of pounds worth of prizes that have yet to be claimed plus a £15M Lotto Must Be Won jackpot up for grabs on Christmas Day, there is every opportunity for National Lottery players to give themselves a once-in-a-lifetime gift…just be sure to check your tickets and claim your prize.

‘On Christmas Day, even if no ticket-holder were to match all six numbers to scoop the special £15M Lotto jackpot, because it is a Must Be Won draw, players will win big as the jackpot will roll down to boost all the other prize tiers.’
